Vista D'Oro's 2004 Cooking School Schedule

Here is the Vista D'Oro's (20856 - 4th Avenue, Langley, 604 514-3539) 2004 Cooking School Schedule. I am intrigued by their classes especially the The Art of Chocolate on February 10. Love to attend but we have run out of time; too many things to do before the baby arrives.

Grand Honour Hot Pot Photos

I love Chinese Hot Pot and I love Grand Honour Hot Pot as I wrote about in my earlier Grand Honour Hot Pot First Visit report and Grand Honour Hot Pot Mini-Review.

Talk about warming winter food!

Anyways we had another fabulous meal at Grand Honour Hot Pot last night and I thought I'd share my photos here so for those who have never been to Chinese Hot Pot will have some idea what I am raving about. Unfortunately, I was so busy eating that I didn't take pictures of everything. Next time!

Grand Opening at Nuba

Vic and Jeremy (and O'Neill, not sure whether I have that spelling right!) of Nuba invited me to Nuba's grand opening tonight.

The room looks smashing . They've added some stunning photographs of Lebanon taken by Vic's friends and added a new menu board.

Happily, the food was as delicious as my first visit. Eat at Nuba! You won't regret it.

Eat This New York - A Documentary About the Business of Food

Sounds like Eat This New York is a must see for those who love food and restaurants! It'll be worth it just to see the appearances by Ruth Reichl, Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Tim Zagat.

Acapulco Fresh in Kenmore near Seattle

Should have blogged this sooner! Back in November we really enjoyed the food at Acapulco Fresh (6016 NE Bothell Way, Kenmore WA 98028-9403, 425 482-0334) in Kenmore near Seattle.

Much better than the typical greasy, heavy pseudo Tex-Mex food we get here. Real Mexican. Fresh salsas; great variety and large flavour selection. Wonderful fish tacos (US $6.25) and in fact everything we tried was delicious! Mmmm!

UBC Chinese Culinary Arts course needs more students

The Chinese Culinary Arts course at UBC (that I tried to take earlier but was cancelled) has postponed its start to Monday February 9 in order to get more students.

Check the course outline (PDF) out! We'll be eating at four different Chinese restaurants (two in Richmond and two in Vancouver) and exploring the many Chinese regional cuisines.

Dine Out Vancouver Disappointment

We hardly ever write negative things here but after a disappointing Dine Out Vancouver experience tonight, I had to write something!

There's no point in a restaurant putting on a promotion if they are not going to do it right.

Tonight is not the first night that we've been disappointed with a restaurant execution of a promotional offer. It doesn't just happen during Dine Out Vancouver unfortunately.
