Dean, the manager of Cafe Katzenjammer, emailed me to thank us for yesterday's Mini-Review of Cafe Katzenjammer. He told me that their schnitzel is pan fried and NOT deep fried. I have corrected it in our Katzenjammer mini-review. Thank-you Dean!
And now for lucky Vancouverites, Katzenjammer (4441 West 10th Avenue, 604 222 2775) is also a place to hang out and have hearty, tasty, unpretentious German food.
If you are in Richmond, Empire Supermarket (102 - 4600 No. 3 Rd, Richmond), is the place to shop for Chinese (and some Japanese, Filipino, Vietnamese, Thai, etc. stuff) produce, sauces, seafood, meat and almost everything in between.
All attractively presented and usually cheaper than other Chinese markets like T&T. Highly recommended.
September 11, 2001 was a turning point in everybody's lives including mine. That was the day I received my severance package from Nortel in Richmond as well as the day of the terrorist attacks in the USA.
Ever since then, I hardly ever go to Richmond. Before that day, I used to spend a lot of my time eating and shopping in Richmond. Now that I work in Vancouver, I spend 90% of my time there.
Of all the styles of Chinese food, Cantonese is my favourite and most familiar style.
Yesterday for our fourth Chinese Culinary Arts Class, we ate at Sun Sui Wah (102 Alderbridge Place, 4940 No. 3 Road, Richmond, 604 273-8208) in Richmond.
