[ROLAND's NOTE: Thanks Ken. It's too bad they don't have an RSS feed so you don't have to waste time manually surfing the site to see if they have updated!]
The Seattle Times website provides a good coverage of Pacific NW food scene. Whenever we head down to greater Seattle area we usually checkout the write-ups first for new restaurant openings or special events.
Much better than the typical greasy, heavy pseudo Tex-Mex food we get here. Real Mexican. Fresh salsas; great variety and large flavour selection. Wonderful fish tacos (US $6.25) and in fact everything we tried was delicious! Mmmm!
Boy oh boy do the cream puffs aka "banh choux a la creme" at the Than Brothers Pho Restaurant chain in Everett and Seattle look great. (Link via Better Living Through Software). Anybody know where I can get these cream puffs in Vancouver? If so, please let us know!
To close off our Seattle stories from last weekend, while we were at Pike Place Market last Saturday, we tried the wonderful sweet and savoury goods at Piroshky Piroshky (1908 Pike Place Seattle, WA 98101 (206)-441-6068 piroshky@piroshkypiroshky.com). It's a small bakery run by Russian immigrants where everything is freshly prepared on premises.
Both the sweet and savoury piroshkys (which are like little rolls or pies) were delicious (nice light pastry and yummy fillings).
Chutneys Queen Anne (in the Queen Anne neighbourhood of Seattle) is a nice restaurant. Nice decor, cloth napkins. Not the kind of place you'd expect to have delicious Indian food!
The food is great! In particular the spinach mushroom chicken and the murgh chicken are outstanding. And if you go there, you must order the curried mussels appetizer! The sauce is heavenly.
