[Saab Ken] Evalu8.org - local restaurants guide

Found another Vancouver-based lifestyle e-zine with a good cross section of local restaurants and reviews:

[EDITOR'S NOTE: Thanks Ken for reminding us about Evalu8, we have admired Evalu8 since they started and have had a link to them on the right for a couple of years now!]

[Felix Ng] New Authentic Mexican Restaurant in Richmond!

Hi Everyone!

There's a new Mexican restaurant called Cantina Mexicana (Mexican Kitchen) at No.6 and Mayfield Place (it's on the left driveway at the end of Mayfield).  They have authentic home made style Mexican dishes such as flotas, sopa de torillas, tortas, and even seafood (mariscos).  The average price of a dish is $5 and it's well worth it.  The owner Carlos is from Mexico.  Tell him Felix sent you!  They are open from 7-4pm Mon-Thurs, until 10pm on Fri and Sat and closed on Sundays.

[EDITOR'S NOTE:

Cafe Asia has closed

According to jack and jill dine out, Cafe Asia has closed. I will miss them. Cafe Asia was the only place in the city (as far as I know) that served Filipino (and other Asian) food in a true restaurant style. I love the many cafeteria style Filipino restaurants in Vancouver, but sometimes it's nice to be waited upon.

If you know of a non cafeteria style Filipino restaurant, please leave a comment.

We're back

Thanks for all the well wishes! Baby is fine and I am raring to blog!

From Sher (thanks!) and copied by me below.

Much as we'd love to support this great cause, we probably won't be able to make it because we'll be tending to our soon to be born baby.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

FoodInc.ca

An amazing directory of restaurants in the lower mainland and across Canada. Only lists basic address information and mapquest maps, though. Still it's a handy site. [EDITOR'S NOTE: Thanks Ken!]
