Seafood watch - A consumer's guide to sustainable seafood

The consumer's guide to sustainable seafood is excellent and an eye opener ! I especially like the page on what to avoid eating, what to be cautious about eating and what to avoid (avoid orange roughy, monkfish, lingcod, Chilean sea bass etc.).   Check it out!

Savoury City photos and typos fixed

My apologies to the cool folks at Savoury City.  In my haste, my previous post on Savoury City had some typos and the links to the pictures were wrong.  I have fixed it and all should be well.  Check out the updated Savoury City post.

Savoury City's savoury food

Barb brought the latest menu from Savoury City home the other day and I realized to my horror that I hadn't blogged about the samples that Savoury City graciously provided us back in July when we first heard about Savoury City.

Russian Christmas Bazaar Today and Tomorrow 12-5p.m.

Barb and I went to the Russsian Christmas bazaar at the Russian Centre on 4th Avenue today.  Wonderful children's dancing, singing and performing as well as crafts and other stuff for sale.

But of course, we went for the food.  The Borscht is a steal at $3 a bowl including great broth, cabbage, beets, sour cream and a slice of bread; an excellent lunch for one.

Granville Island Cheese Fest 15-16 November 2003

Like last year, the Granville Island Cheese Fest (tomorrow Saturday 15 November 2003 and Sunday 16 November 2003) features local BC Cheeses.  In addition to great cheese, there's a draw for a raclette grill and  classical music.  More info: 604-666-6477, option 5. Check it out!
