NPR Splendid Table [SaabKen]

[Roland's note: Thanks Ken. You need your own food blog! Don't worry, we will be converting VanEats to a Bryght site (disclosure: I am founder of Bryght!) before Christmas and that means Ken (and whoever else wants one) will get a free VanEats blog complete with photos just like the members of UrbanVancouver which by the way *gratuitous plug* is a Bryght site *end of plug*.

People have asked me where Kiwi Pies (makers of yummy chicken and lamb pies amongst others) is located.  They are at 3337 Kingsway but I don't have their phone number! If you do, please leave a comment

Caffe Artigiano DOES have free WiFi

Apparently I was wrong! I was informed via email that the new Caffe Artigiano location on West Hastings DOES have free WiFi. Apparently you have to ask at the bar. I will verify and post a followup. Of course, leave a comment if you can confirm that they have free WiFi.

Vietnamese Iced Coffee - A pictorial essay

Au Petit Cafe - 33rd and Main

Check out my story on Vietnamese iced coffee. It's a good thing Au Petit Cafe (must do a full mini-review soon!) is not close to where I work or live or I would become totally addicted to the wonderful sweet, strong, Vietnamese iced coffee there as well as their excellent subs and Vietnamese food!

The 8-Day Basics Cooking Series for "serious foodies" at the Northwest Culinary Academy of Vancouver (6:15p.m.-9:45p.m., Mondays starting September 20, $695) sounds like an excellent way for passionate home chefs to hone their technique. Thanks to Kirsten and Saab Ken for pointing it out.
