Here are the highlights of our visit yesterday to Eat! Vancouver. If you can make it, we recommend it highly, lots of great stuff for food lovers of all ages and tastes!
The Mini Charlotte at La Petite France is yet another triumph for Anne and Christian. Beautiful and tasty. Can't ask for much more. Exquisite sponge cake, mousse and raspberry jelly in the bottom. Delicious!
Cristina emailed us to remind us (thanks!) that Eat Vancouver 2004 is set for next Friday 23 to Sunday 25 April 2004. We enjoyed Eat Vancouver 2003 and will try to make it there baby willing!

An amazing directory of restaurants in the lower mainland and across Canada. Only lists basic address information and mapquest maps, though. Still it's a handy site. [EDITOR'S NOTE: Thanks Ken!]
Casa Dolce (5633 West Boulevard, 604 261-6388) is the latest stop on our "go out as much as possible before baby" tour!
We were pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the desserts and the ambiance. It's a great room to relax in after shopping in Kerrisdale or just to hang out.
The colourful drink that was in our Samosa Garden write up is falooda, a drink/dessert that's popular all around India. Although there are numerous variations, falooda usually contains vermicelli, ice cream, milk, basil seeds and is characteristically flavoured with rose syrup.
A friend of mine received a humble pie from Acme Humble Pie (email info@acmepie.com or call 604 647 2263 or toll free 1 877 226 3743; they don't have a storefront).
Vancouver based Acme Humble Pie will ship one of their apple pies: either a "Humble Pie" or a "Merci Beaucoup Pie" within 3 business days to most major cities in Canada. They also sell chocolate brownies!
Great business idea! Can't wait to try a piece of my friend's pie!
Of all the styles of Chinese food, Cantonese is my favourite and most familiar style.
Yesterday for our fourth Chinese Culinary Arts Class, we ate at Sun Sui Wah (102 Alderbridge Place, 4940 No. 3 Road, Richmond, 604 273-8208) in Richmond.
