My blog (rolandtanglao.com) is down due to a domain SNAFU brought on by my procrastination.
So pictures don't work until Thursday or Friday when my domain name SNAU is resolved. Luckily Flickr's very cool photo sharing still works.
So here is a photo of Hong Kong style strong tea with condensed milk that I took today at the Venus Cafe in Richmond. Sweet, caramel flavoured goodness with a mega-caffeine kick. Warning: incredibly addictive, I recommend only one of these a week at the most!
Alas, it won't be today. But I will note that the vanilla creme brulee ($7.50) is great: nice vanila flavour underneath a perfectly done crunchy top skin. Mmmm. And one portion is enough for two or three.

House of Selassie (Selassie Ethiopian Restaurant)2145 Granville (Granville and 6th) ph: 604-736-2145 This delightful Ethiopian restaurant can easily be missed, overshadowed by the art galleries and home décor shops lining South Granville. Try not to miss out on this hidden adventure in eating!
According to this comment (left by people associated with restaurant methinks!), the Tamarind Bistro is an Indian restaurant and it will be opening on June 15th. Looking forward to eating there!
A person I met last week over lunch said something that stuck in the back of my mind. He said he loves Chinese food but he can't eat it anymore because typically the food (especially not the meat) is not the highest quality. But it's oh so tasty and therefore still very tempting to him.
Personally, I could never stop eating at Chinese restaurants but I see his point.
Urban Bites (16th and Arbutus, in the same mall as the Ridge, 604 733-2483) fills a definite niche in the Kits area. Gourmet food for eat in, takeout or free (!) delivery within 3 km radius. Much better in our humble opinion than the scores of fast food options that abound.
Just the thing for a stressed out couple of new parents like ourselves.
