Didn't make it to City TV's Taste of the City 2006

Barb was sick so we missed City Tv's Taste of the City 2006. Oh well, next year!

Dept:

CityTV's 4th Annual Taste of the City is tomorrow July 29, 2006 - noon to 8p.m.

Barb and I will be at CityTv's 4th Annual Taste of the City in the afternoon (VanEats' CityTV Taste of the City 2003, 2004, 2005 reports) after the West End Farmers Market (gratuitous plug: Midnight Kitchen will again be at the West End Farmers' Market). See you there!

Midnight Kitchen ice cream sandwich pictures!

I am biased but Barb and Glo's Midnight Kitchen ice cream sandwiches and cookies are  some of the best I have ever tasted.

The photo below doesn't really do them justice but it will have to do!

Aurora Bistro's Summer Menu - $48 for 3 courses including Wine

The Aurora Bistro summer menu is fantastic. $48 for 3 courses and a corresponding flight of wine. Yum!  Barb and I tried this tonight and it was delicious (seared scallop with bacon and pea risotto, sour cherry roasted garlic roast chicken and we're not even going to write about the delicious artichoke and potato appy). Highly recommended.

Rekados has launched and they have a blog

Rekados (4063 Main Street at King Edward, 604-873-3133) the new waiter service Filipino restaurant that I blogged about earlier, has opened. Congratulations! Check out the Rekados blog for updates. Hopefully we'll get to it soon! Let us know what you think.

Rekados - new Filipino restaurant with table service opening in July

I found out via email from Teejae Conwi that he and several partners are opening a new Filipino restaurant with table service (yes, my whingeing has paid off :-) ! ) opening in July. It will be called Rekados and will be located at King Edward and Main and the partners trained in Vancouver and worked at the Arbutus Club for years. Excellent! Can't wait to try it!
