Barb is a Fire-Lusty Gal

It's summertime! Time to fire up the BBQ! It's just not for men either; women can be just as enthusiastic and adept with a fire as men. Of course, our favourite VanEats editor, Barb, is a Fire-Lusty Gal!

Toronto Restaurant Inspection Report Online

If you are travelling to Toronto, check out this Toronto online restaurant inspection report courtesy of Teresa Salter. We're still looking for a Vancouver website like this. Please post a news item or reply to Tree's response.

RhuBARB!

It's almost summer! Time to get your rhubarb before summer really hits as Barb points out in her story Rhubarb Hoarding.

NYC Restaurant Inspection Report Online

Does anybody know if Vancouver has a restaurant inspection report online similar to the one in New York City?

All I could find was a reference to a $50 report NOT available on line.

I think it would be a good idea to post restaurant inspection reports online. This would probably make restaurant owners more conscious of the cleanliness of their restaurants.

Doris is a great cook and a chocoholic. Everybody likes Doris's Recipe for Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins including Tammie, one of Barb's friends.

Roland's Fave Restaurants June 2000

Unlike Barb, I have only been living in Vancouver for two years, so it's quite easy for me to think of my favourite restaurants. There are so many good ones, however, that I am sure that two years from now, this list will be different.

Siegel's Bagels

Mmmmm mmmm. Ambrosia is a warm sesame or poppy seed bagel fresh from the oven at Siegel's. Their smoked meat is awesome too. Open 24 hours so that you can always get your fix! These are the only real bagels in the city in my not so humble opinion :-) Bagels from other places are OK if you think of them as bread!
