Tiffanie Sia, head honcho and Bishop's alumnus, sent word of her new gelato place (they also have bubble tea with Choobees instead of tapioca pearls and panini).
It looks like Casa Dolce in Kerrisdale is out of business or has moved. Too bad; I was looking forward to eating there again. As always, please leave a comment if you know the scoop.
If you like spicy food, we highly recommend the Hot Capicollo and Spicy Mushroom Pizza at Nat's New York Pizzeria. At $16 for the large pizza, this is a great tasty and spicy treat; spicy but not overly so and very flavourful. We tried this for the first time on Thursday and it is definitely going to become one of our regularly ordered pizzas.

[ROLAND's NOTE:- Thanks, Dave! I look forward to trying this place out someday but I'll pass on the Liver Cleanser!]
Replacing the former Roti bistro on 4th ave. in Kits, Se-Juiced is a new vegetarian cafe and juice bar. The juice bar takes the focus, and with one of the more creative juice menus in town, rightly so. There's no line between vegetable and fruit juice here, since a good deal of the drinks combine both.
We ordered a pair of veggie burgers and a 'Liver Cleanser'. The former were large, loaded with extras, and satisfying.
If you don't care about search engine optimization and high Google rankings, please feel free to ignore this post!
Like Richard, I don't have a high opinion of the search engine optimization industry (SEO). I think blogs are a much better way to get a higher search engine rank! If you blog constantly about something and your writing is accurate, useful and timely, why shouldn't you have a high Google rank like a lot of blogs (including VanEats) do?
We're back from a 2 week visit to Holland to spend time with Roland's sister's family. Of course we sampled dutch specialities such as Indonesian rijstaffel, pannekoeken, cheeses galore, dutch coffee, and of course, herring!
We'll be reporting on some of our Dutch food adventures in upcoming days.
