We had the good fortune to eat at Modern Club on Friday night with our friends Lisa and Susan.
We tried the "modern modern" okonomiyaki which consisted of cabbage, peppers, onions, noodles (soba), pork (bacon actually) and scallops and of course egg fried up and served with a think Worcestershire style sauce. For about 12 bucks it was enough for two as a main meal or enough for three or four people sharing this and a few other dishes. Delicious!
For those with smaller appetites or who wish to sample more dishes, smaller "trial" okonomiyaki are available for less than half price.
We sat at the bar and watched them cook our okonomiyaki and other customer's dishes at a huge grill in front of us. Being a Friday, the action was fast, frenetic, hypnotic and ultimately fascinating and very similar to the organized chaos at Guu.
We'll be back with a full mini-review soon!
