T&T Chinese deli food

If there was an easy way to link to past Georgia Straight Food Stories, then I would link to Stephen Wong's excellent articles about the wonderful deli food you can buy at T&T.

Try the beef shanks and the sweet and spicy mustard greens. These were our favourites of Stephen's picks. Cheap! Excellent with rice, flatbread, congee, etc. Great nibbling food or beer snacks!

What coincidence. I just came back from the airport and decided to stop by Richmond T&T (actually Osaka) and bought some deli items too. My faves are the marinated duck wings, salty fried smelts(?) with peanuts and chilis, marinated jellyfish, crunchy pig ears (me Cantonese boy), etc. Great as summer tapas with icy cold beers on the patio deck.

Well I think T&T's deli items quality is decent but not above-average (analogous to Safeway deli). You're right their jellyfish is mushier than the better restaurant varieties. I guess the tradeoff is convenience and maybe price.

T&T = Safeway hmmm, I think T&T is better but...

ok we forgot about the pig ears, peanuts and chilis we loved them too jellyfish are one of my favs too! the last time we tried it however, the jellyfish were too mushy? barb claims they were undercooked! what do you think?
