Jonas Norvig of The Confabulist sent us his San Francisco and Napa Restaurant recommendations:

As far as where else you might want to eat, here are some suggestions:

San Francisco:

I'm prejudiced towards the SOMA/Downtown area, because that's where I live. Even knowing I have that bias, though, I'll still wager that most of the best restaurants are down there.

Ben and Jerry's Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

I, along with lots of other people, received my free Ben and Jerry's ice cream today as mentioned yesterday. This was a promotion to celebrate their re-launch into Canada.

I am sure Ben and Jerry's is old hat to most people, but I haven't had much exposure to it because I lived in Germany and England from 1992-1998.

The flavour they handed out at 11a.m. when I was in line was Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.

We don't have a TV, so we have never seen the Italian Cooking and Living TV show. But their website looks great, especially the recipe section. Check it out!

We're not quite sure of their angle: are they commercial or not? The company page doesn't say much! My guess is that it's a commercial site.

I am so jealous! We still don't have a French Laundry Reservation. Nobody has responded to our online request for assistance. So much for the web community :-) ! Just kidding, the online community has been incredibly supportive of VanEats.

Summerhill Pinot Noir 1999

Tonight we had the Summerhill VQA Pyramid Aged Pinot Noir 1999 which was a present from our friend Alvin . We found its pleasantly light flavour to be a perfect complement to spicy summer BBQ pork and chicken. Try it!
