Paolo Monti's Vancouver appearance 20 Nov 2001

The famous Italian Chef, Paolo Monti, was in Vancover tonight at Culinary Caper's wonderful space on 3rd Avenue West sponsored by Margaret Cowan, who organized our Italian cooking school holiday, and by Vacanza Italy, another Vancouver Italian vacation company.

We had heard so many good things about Paolo from our classmates at our cooking classes in Tuscany who had had the pleasure of taking a cooking class from him in Portovenere. I am happy to report that these reports were 100% accurate. Not only are Paolo's jokes actually funny and just as frequent as we heard but his cooking, which is most important, is superb.

Tonight we received a cooking lesson on:

• Tagliatelle al limone (Noodles with cream and lemon sauce)
• Trenette al Pesto (Linguine with Genovese basil and cheese sauce)
• Stracci ai porcini e gamberetti (Flat pasta with porcini mushrooms and shrimps)
