First Visit: Urban Bites

Urban Bites (16th and Arbutus, in the same mall as the Ridge, 604 733-2483) fills a definite niche in the Kits area. Gourmet food for eat in, takeout or free (!) delivery within 3 km radius. Much better in our humble opinion than the scores of fast food options that abound.

Just the thing for a stressed out couple of new parents like ourselves.

On Friday, we had Lamb T-Bones with cous cous, and pickled tomatoes ($12), a chevre, spinach salad ($5) and a lemon-raspberry tart ($4.50).

The salad was excellent. Spinach and chevre are two of our favourite foods and they combine nicely in this dish to give a great combination of flavours and textures.

The lamb with couscous was also a treat. The tart sweetness of the pickled tomatoes was a nice contrast to the flavour of the lamb which was tender, juicy and not overcooked.
