Cafe Katzenjammer's wienerschnitzel is pan fried NOT deep fried

Dean, the manager of Cafe Katzenjammer, emailed me to thank us for yesterday's Mini-Review of Cafe Katzenjammer. He told me that their schnitzel is pan fried and NOT deep fried. I have corrected it in our Katzenjammer mini-review. Thank-you Dean!

He also asked if there's any dishes that we would like to see. Well, Germany is a big country and I only lived in south-western Germany (Friedrichshafen am Bodensee to be exact), so I am biased towards food that I ate there. I would love to see Zwiebelrostbraten (pork or beef roast with onions) and Schupfnudeln (sauerkraut fried with bits of ham and spaetzle, German noodles).

If you have any dishes that you like Cafe Katzenjammer to make that's currently not on their menu, please leave a comment and we will pass it on to Dean.

We visted Katzenjammer about 3 or so months ago when it first opened. Perhaps it has improved since then. Regardless, there was one item that was absolutely delicious: the potato salad. Not what you're thinking, but rather a puckery, vinegary dressing common auf Deutschland. If you give it a go when you go, I guarantee it will be worth your while. Of course, both Roland and another review in paper this week liked the rest, so hopefully I'm wrong, and you will too!

dylan: potato salsad is great and yes the schnitzel is not as good as the best ones in Germany or Austria but it is pretty good i hope your future experiences are better!

On our first visit, one of our dining companions ordered the potato salad and we liked it. Roland prefers the vinegar based dressing over a mayo based one and this one hit the spot!

You know, to be fair, I should mention that although our first experience was not all we hoped it would be, this is one of the better outside-Germany German restaurants I've ever eaten at. They are, somehow, usually absolutely horrible. So there's another reason to go.
