1st Birthday Cake

For our kid's first birthday, I made a 2 tier birthday cake (Roland had one for his first birthday).  And since this was probably the only year I could get away with making a cake without a particular theme and his birthday fell on Easter, I decorated it with Easter goodies from La Petite France. 

The cake itself was a tender banana cake layered with chocolate ganache and iced with whipped cream.   I'm sure glad there are leftovers!
