Vintropolis replaces Cafe Bombay on 1st

Good luck to the recently opened Vintropolis (check out Tim Pawsey's Vintropolis Courier writeup) at 1809 West 1st ( 604 738-2727) on the site of the former Bombay Cafe (I'll miss their chicken frankie!) and before that Sienna. This location seems to be a tough one on restaurants. Doesn't make sense because it's close to The Smoking Dog, a fitness centre and a hair salon in an up-market area.

Here's two photos of the new Vintropolis. Let's hope they find the formula for long term success in this location that has eluded the others. I think it will work out because half is a wine bar and a bistro and half is a wine store and people always need wine. We shall see!

everytime i type in golden great wall there just always that part (golden great wall does not specialize in szechuan food) really upsetting to me why dont you change that small part for golden great wall
