The Splendid Table

[EDITORS NOTE: We covered the Splendid Table back in August 2002. However: a) it's worth featuring again (thanks Ken!) and b) it's easy to overlook because the search engine on our site is unreliable (you have to click twice to get it to work: first on Search and then on "Search Again". Otherwise, the results will be inaccurate. Sorry for the confusion. We hope to have the search engine working better soon! Here's a news item that one of our readers, Ken, posted tonight:]

This is one of my favorite general-purpose, all-around foodie sites. Best features include archived programs you can listen via Windows Media Player or Real Audio. Always a great alternative to TV cooking shows !

The Splendid Table is a weekly exploration of food and cooking, covering the entire subject of food as it touches our lives and feeds our souls. More than a cooking program, The Splendid Table is about meals as a gathering place, classic dishes and new discoveries, travel and other cultures, feeding a family on the run, and lots more. The series uses a discussion of food -- both haute and humble -- as a port of entry to an exploration of American traditions, culinary and otherwise.
