First Visit: Tiny's Cafe

Tiny's (740 West. Hastings, 604 684-1037) is a Vancouver institution that has been serving food to downtown office workers, tourists and shoppers for several decades.

I tried it out today as part of my quest to discover the best lunch spots in downtown Vancouver.

Recently rennovated, the ambiance is bright and cheery. The food is not gourmet but it is hearty, inexpensive and comes quickly. And at lunch time, the place is hopping!

Both Western and Chinese food are available including lots of old school dishes for less than $10 (even cheaper for breakfast!). I had an hot turkey sandwhich with mash potatoes for $6.50 (GST included) which was reminiscent of the food I used to eat way back in my hometown!

A great place for a reliable, cheerful warm bit of nosh!
