Silicon Bakeware

For our wedding, we registered for some silicon--bakeware that is!! Silicon bakeware has been around for the last few years and many bakers swear by its nonstick qualities and durability.

I tried out our new mini muffin cups this evening to make mini turtle brownies. I just put the silicon muffin mold onto a baking sheet and filled the cups with batter--no need to grease or line the molds. When the brownies were baked, I let them cool in the muffin molds and they popped out!

A few companies now produce silicon bakeware: Pantec, which is a B.C. run company based in Langley and Demarle, a US based company.

Silicon bakeware is a bit of an investment, but if you're an avid baker, its convenience and durability outweigh its cost!!
