Roland's Retrospective on our first year

Wow! It's been a year!

Looking back on it all, the best part of it has been sharing my life with Barb! I am so lucky to be sharing it with her and I look forward to our marriage in September!

Next to Barb, everything else pales in comparison but aside from that the best moments for me were donating food to the food bank that we collected at our Winter Warmup and Launch party and Barb's delicious Chocolate Caramel Pecan Cake.

In addition to the people that Barb thanked yesterday, I would also like to thank our ISP, weblogger.com for hosting the site without alot of outages and Userland for Manila.

For my day job, I manage a developer support group for an internal Nortel Networks software platform so I know what it's like to support a software platform like Frontier and Manila. To mangle the Bard, you get to suffer "the slings and arrows of outrageous" developers and users :-) ! Dave, your software is awesome! I love the fact that the development is taking place in public in real time over the Internet! I wish we could do that! More importantly Manila is so easy to use and so powerful that somebody who's not a geek, like Barb after less than a hour of coaching can write stories, create links and create relative paths on her own. We use the relative path feature to make the URLs for most of our site such as our restaurant reviews and recipes user friendly! And we absolutely love it!
