The buzz about Ouest on South Granville , which opened late in 2000, makes me want to eat there! From Vancouver magazine: "Expect the unusual from David Hawksworth. In addition to a table d'hôte, his opening menu at Ouest will offer à la carte items such as a mosaic of game and foie gras à la grecque, a white-bean and Swiss-chard soup with celery pesto, ravioli of lobster in ginger broth and roast cannon of lamb."
From the Westender: "And stay tuned: with the opening of Ouest on South Granville (soon to be officially reviewed), this year is already shaping up to beget ready to groan-2001: A Taste Odyssey."
And finally from Adam's Guide: "Ouest 738.8938 Jack Evrensel (Cin-Cin, Araxi, Blue Water Cafe) with David Hawksworth as chef has opened in the former premises of Gianni's - a luxe, lively locale. Hawskworth is a Canadian with extensive experience in the major English restaurants, His chef Patissier, Thierry Busset also has wide experience in Europe and England. We look forward to some interesting tastes. To be reviewed."
Has anybody checked it out? If so, please contribute a review or email us. You can find Ouest at 2881 Granville and their telephone number is 738-8938.
