The Gourmet Warehouse is a wonderful place to shop for gourmet foods at reasonable prices. They carry an impressive variety of often difficult to find ingredients and some interesting kitchenwares.
When you walk through the alley entrance to the Warehouse (it really is in a warehouse district!), you're hit with bright displays of hundreds of items that any foodie would want to try. From a wide range of condiments to pastas to cheeses to sweets... I could spend hours there checking out new items.
The Gourmet Warehouse also carries a nice variety of cooking utensils, pots and pans, baking supplies, ceramics and cookbooks.
And for those who can't make it to Vancouver to shop, you can purchase regularly stocked items on-line. The variety is limited compared to the hundreds of items available at the storefront location.
The last time I was there, I picked up some handmade pasta from Italy and a few bowls with notches to rest chopsticks. I had to restrain myself from filling up my basket with Salt Spring Island Cheese, Jamaican batch #114 hot sauce, fig molasses, fleur de sel and chocolates in a Curious George tin.
I could get carried away there. No need to say more!
