Mini-Review: Caramba! at Whistler

For the last two years, I've spent the last week of March snowboarding at Whistler with my friends, Teresa, Robert and Paul from Toronto.

Since Teresa and I love to cook, we don't eat out much usually only once or twice and we splurge at a high end restaurant. Whistler has tons of these restaurants.

This year Paul dragged us out to Caramba! which is definitely not high end for Whistler! Despite my initial skepticism, we really enjoyed Caramba!.

It's a mediterranean restaurant, featuring pizza, pasta and a rotisserie. I had a lovely pot roast and the pizzas and pastas that everybody else tried were tasty and cheap for Whistler at less than $20 each!

The real stars of this restaurant are the appetizers! My friend Ed, who joined us this year from Ottawa, and I shared the calamari and they were phenomenal! Grilled with LOTS of garlic, this delicious dish alone makes a visit to this restaurant worthwhile! Teresa and Robert's mushroom appetizers were so good that they wouldn't even share it with us! Next year I am going back just for the calamari and mushrooms!
