QUOTE

Is My Blog Burning? is a monthly event in the food blogging universe. Each month a food blogger acts as a 'virtual' host and announces a recipe theme and a date on which other bloggers should post a dish based on that theme on their blogs. The next day the host provides links to all the entries. This website provides information on these and related events and a forum to discuss issues related to food blogging. Is My Blog Burning? is based on an idea of Il Forno. It is managed by loveSicily who, when not blogging themselves, organise holidays in Sicily.

The IMBB event began with a posting on Il Forno by Alberto, who came up with the original idea. The idea was met enthusiasm by food bloggers and the events regulalry attract an average of 40 recipes. This means that food bloggers , collectively, produce a theme-based cook book each month that spans the cuisines and styles of the world!

However, it does not end there. The original idea spawned a number of similar events.

Wine Blogging Wednesdays calls for food and wine bloggers to write about a wine (based on a theme).

Sugar High Fridays focus on sweets exculsively!

Does My Blog Look Good In This? collects the best photos of the month and then people can vote for their favourite one. The winning blog is awarded the "Good Looking Blog of the Month" award.

Finally, the Paper Chef, gives food bloggers a list of ingredients and 48 hours in which to come up with a recipe. The results are adjudicated by a blogger and the winner receives the "Paper Chef" crown for the month!.
