Hacker-Pschorr Hefe Weisse

My favourite German beer is any "dunkles (dark) hefe weizen" (wheat beer).  Unfortunately, there's not a whole lot  of dunkles available here.  Yet another argument for de-regulation (it would be a great business to import German hefe weizen!).

North American tastes seems to be for the lighter German hefe weizen.  And as Jurgen Goethe states in this week's Georgia StraightHacker-Pschorr Hefe Weisse is an excellent German wheat beer of the non-dark persuasion.  Check it out! It is a perfect refreshing summer beer.

And if you ever get a chance try out a dunkles.  It's more substantial, full bodied and perfect for winter or if you are fanatic like me, perfect year round.

Yes,indeed,Hacker-Pschorr is a great Wheat Beer.I hope to see it stay in the marketplace for sometime. There is a new beer in town.the classic German Pilsener,Furstenberg Premium Pilsener. This is the first German Pilsener beer developed in Germany that adhered to the traditional Czech Pilsner method. It is great, hoppy, with a bold body and dry tingling aftertaste. I've seen it around town and around the Province. I'd recommend it.

Thanks Christian! I will try it!
