Anybody been to Shanghai Palace?

I found three recommendations for the Sichuanese and Shanghaiese food at Shanghai Palace (604.261.6328) at 8012 Granville Street on the web today.

First from the famous weblogger, Doc Searls, who was in town briefly before he went on the Macmania cruise featuring Steve Wozniak and many other famous Apple and Macintosh computer-related people.

And then from a Google search, I found that it was recommended by Connie and Herb on their wedding website. The love the xiao long bao (steamed dumplings), hot and sour soup, and the salt and pepper fried crab . Reading their brief review made me very hungry!

The second recommendation was from Jacob Ung who loves their yu-din-kai (fried chicken with soya sauce) and their siu-long-pau (steamed dumplings).

We are always on the lookout for good, inexpensive restaurants like Shanghai Palace. If anybody has eaten there recently, please let us know (requires quick and easy membership). It sounds so good that Barb and I will be visiting it soon!
