Plum Streusel Cake

2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 large eggs
1/4 cup oil
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
6 to 7 medium plums, quartered lengthwise or 8 to 10 prune plums, halved

Topping:
1/4 cup sugar
3 Tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
2 Tbsp. butter

Topping:
In a small bowl, combine all ingredients until crumbly. Set aside.

Sift together dry ingredients in a large bowl.
Combine eggs, oil, buttermilk and vanilla in a medium bowl.
Fold egg mixture into dry ingredients, stirring just until all ingredients are mixed.
Pour batter into a greased 9" square baking pan and smooth top of batter.
Arrange plums, cut side down on top of batter. They should almost be touching.
Sprinkle evenly with topping.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 to 50 minutes.
Serve warm or at room temperature.
